CT Coronary Calcium Score
A CT coronary calcium score requires ECG leads to be placed on your chest. There is no injection of contrast.
The scan lasts only a few seconds and, when used for the appropriate patient, provides highly valuable information about the amount of plaque you have in your coronary arteries. While calcium scores are widely advertised to the public many patients are not in the right risk category to benefit from them – please take your own doctor’s advice about whether you would benefit from this test.
